Nikke's support of sports and culture is a contribution to society and a gift to future generations.
The Nikke Group's efforts to support sports and culture are intended to foster development in younger generations and help to create a healthier lifestyle for everyone.
One example of these efforts is the Nikke All-Japan Tennis Championships, organized by the Japan Tennis Association. The Nikke Group has a strong connection with the sport of tennis, and by acting as a main sponsor of this event since 2005, the Group has been endeavoring to contribute to the birth of new stars in the world of Japanese tennis.
Launched in 2006, the Nikke Pure Heart Essay Competition is an opportunity for young people to express their hopes and dreams in essay form (in Japanese). This competition includes a talk session with the competition's special judge and best-selling writer Hirotada Ototake, author of No One's Perfect.
The Illustration Competition provides a chance for entrants to communicate their "pure" points of view to society at large, and seeks submissions from people of all ages.
Prizewinning submissions are published in the Nikke Pure Heart Essay and Illustration Compilation (published by Kanpo Co).
Each year the city of Kakogawa, Hyogo Prefecture holds the Kakogawa Marathon, a race open to the public, which was launched in 1990 to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the city's incorporation. Since its establishment in 1896, Nikke has been growing side by side with Kakogawa, a city home to numerous Nikke locations including the Innami Mill, Kakogawa Office and Nikke Parktown shopping center. For this reason, Nikke fully supports the marathon and has been a main sponsor since its inception.
